The Ultimate All Inclusive Packing List

Michigan has gotten a ton of snow the last few weeks. All of this winter weather has me dreaming of my last all inclusive vacation to Punta Cana. This dreaming inspired me to share my packing list with all of you!

If you’re like me, you’ll spend your entire vacation on the resort property. This makes the packing list that much more important! And if this is your first all inclusive, check out my previous post on tips to make the most out of your trip.

Packing List Toiletries

There’s a good chance that your resort will have a store on their property. Since it’s the only store onsite, however, the prices will likely be higher than you’re used to. Due to this, I recommend putting an assortment of OTC meds and toiletries on your packing list to prevent you from breaking the bank. Things I brought or wish I’d brought include:

  • Sunscreen, face sunscreen, and aloe vera
    • You will almost definitely need both of these each day you’re at your all inclusive. I about had a heart attack when I saw the price the resort was charging for them.
  • Nail polish remover wipes
    • These come in handy after a few days of sand, sunscreen, and chlorine messing with your nail polish
  • Moisturizer and lotion
  • Allergy meds
    • My allergies were brutal on my last all inclusive! If I would have put Claritin on my packing list, I would have been a much better version of myself
  • Pain relievers
  • Tums

Clothing

Amazon has a ton of fun and affordable resort wear! When I was browsing for clothes, I searched things like “women’s resort wear” and got so many great options. Try pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone with bright colors and patterns. I also LOVE a 2-piece outfit option or a great hat. In addition to resort wear, don’t forget the to put the items below on your packing list.

  • 3 or more bathing suits
    • You’ll be spending the majority of the time in your suit. It’s fun to have different options to choose from while you’re there!
  • Coverups
    • These will come in handy as you’re switching pools or heading to lunch.
  • Some dressier outfits for dinner
    • I recommend adding fun sundresses, as well as some mix and match pieces to your packing list. I got a ton of wear out of a black silk maxi skirt because I had multiple tops to pair with it. Mixing and matching will also save some space in your suitcase.
  • Sweatshirt and sweatpants
    • Our AC was broken the first few nights and I have never been SO cold in my life. I was dreaming of my cozy clothes. You may not need it, but it’s good to have just in case. They could also be useful if you choose to do an excursion on a boat or if it rains!

Packing List Accessories

One of the most important sections of your packing list is the accessories section! Accessories can bring your outfit to another level and they’re so helpful for keeping you comfortable depending on the weather.

  • Sunglasses
  • Baseball cap or bucket hat
    • Give your face a break from the sun! Pack at least one or two hats.
  • Pool-friendly jewelry
    • Dress your pool outfit up a little bit! Special shoutout to big hoop earrings because they won’t leave a tan line.
  • Tumbler, like a Yeti or Stanley
    • Great for keeping your frozen drinks cold poolside! They’re also bigger than the resort’s cups, so you’ll get more of your drink.
  • Flip flops
  • Dressier sandals
    • You’ll need footwear to match your cutie dinner outfits!
  • Running shoes
    • You may want to do an excursion like dune buggying or a hike! Sneakers will come in handy if you sign up for one.

Odds and Ends

  • Cash for tipping
    • We figured out which bartenders we liked best whether it was their pour or their energy and made sure to tip them well upfront. Then, when they saw us in the crowd, they were likely to call us up earlier.
  • Paperback book or two
  • Handheld steamer
    • This came in handy because some of my nicer dinner clothes were silk material and became creased when I was traveling.
    • This is definitely a nice to have not a need to have. So, don’t sweat if you don’t have room for this on your packing list.

Now that you’ve read through my must haves, you’re ready to start your packing list for your next all inclusive vacation. Comment where you’re headed or where you’re dreaming of traveling to!

Happy Travels!
